Lotfi ben Othmane is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of North Texas (since 2022), specializing in engineering secure cyber-physical systems. He has secured approximately $655.4K in research funding and published over 60 peer-reviewed papers and he holds one U.S. patent. His career includes academic and research appointments at Iowa State University, Fraunhofer SIT, and Eindhoven University of Technology, among others. Across these roles, he fully developed seven courses spanning cybersecurity, software engineering, AI-focused software engineering, and related fundamentals, while mentoring 17 M.S. and 2 Ph.D. graduates. He has initiated startups including SecureAuto to help detect malicious attacks on connected vehicles.
